The delightful 10-day Cape Town Heritage Garden Route package gives you a historical insight including the legacy of Apartheid and the nation’s ongoing reconciliation of that past, while building a better future. This will all be captured while visiting Robben Island where you will hear stories of apartheid. From history to the incredible Garden Route where you will see the finest wildlife, offering a vast herd of rhinos, elephant and antelope to the largest sea mammals in the world and other vast animals. Not only a wonderful wilderness but you will see winelands and other ecological divers vegetations and marine reserves along with spectacular coastline which is home to the endangered Southern Right Whale, delicate coral reefs and a host of marine birds.

Day 0 – Arrival Day
Welcome to the Mother City Cape Town

The southern tip of the continent is where the magnificent city of Cape Town situated where you will arrive at Cape Town International Airport. Our representative will greet you at the airport for your travel to the beautiful Point B Guest House that is just 20 minutes from the airport.
Nestled at the foot of Signal Hill, one of Cape Town’s famous landmarks, this guest house combines friendly service with luxurious accommodation. Each of the guest units, as well as all public areas, is comfortably furnished with modern furnishings. After unpacking you will enjoy an afternoon of leisure so you can begin to know the city.

Day 1
Robben Island & Table Mountain Tour

After breakfast, our representative will meet you at the hotel for a Robben Island and Table Mountain Tour. Robben Island used primarily as a prison where Indigenous African leaders, Muslim leaders from the East Indies, Dutch and British soldiers and civilians, women, and anti- apartheid activists, including South Africa’s first democratic President, Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela and the founding leader of the Pan Africanist Congress, Robert Mangaliso Sobukwe, were all imprisoned on the Island. After Robben Island you will travel to the majestic Table Mountain which lies at the southern point of Africa for a trip up to the top of the mountain to see the amazing coastline and the city of Cape Town. Overnight at Point B Guest House. Breakfast included. Note: Weather to Robben Island and Table Mountain is notoriously unpredictable and the guides may adjust the itinerary for this reason.

Day 2
Township Tour

After breakfast, our representative will meet you at the hotel for a Bo-Kaap, District Six Museum and Langa tour. You will visit a cultural-rich Bo-Kaap quarter; do a walking tour viewing Parliament, St Georges Cathedral and Company Gardens. Next you will travel to District Six Museum, originally established as a mixed community of freed slaves, merchants, artisans, laborers and immigrants, District Six was vibrant centre with close links to the city and the port. By the beginning of the twentieth century, however, the process of removals and marginalization had begun. The first to be ‘resettled’ were black South Africans, forcibly displaced from the District in 1901. Finally, you will finish the tour with a trip into Langa’s township which is the oldest township in South Africa. The name Langa literally means ‘sun’ in Xhosa, the name of the township is derived from the name of Langalibalele -a chief and renowned rainmaker who in 1873 was imprisoned on Robben Island for rebelling against the Natal government. Day 3
Cape Point Tour

After breakfast, our representative will meet you at the hotel for a Cape Peninsula tour. On this day you will experience the Cape Point Tour, which is the most popular tour in Cape Town. It’s a tour of breathtaking beauty majestic scenery and spectacular views. Highlights of the tour include: Sea Point, Clifton Beach, Camps Bay, and Hout Bay Harbour. Additional option (at your own account) is a boat trip to Seal Island Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, Cape Point and Boulders Penguin Colony. Please let the representative know in advance of travel. Overnight at Point B Guest House. Breakfast included.

Day 4
Stellenbosch Winelands

After breakfast , our representative will meet you at the hotel for a day of wine tasting in Stellenbosch. Enjoy a day in the winelands where you will have a day of wine pairing some of the most famous wines in all of South Africa.

Day 5
Garden Route Adventure – Cape Town to Oudtshoorn – Cango Caves & Ostrich Farm

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast before departing to Oudtshoorn where our representative will meet you at the hotel for you to begin your travel to Oudtshoorn where you will check in at Wildenhondekloof Private Game Reserve. While there in the Little Karoo which is known as the ostrich capital of the world is South Africa’s longest wine route and an iconic feature on the country’s tourist map. Enjoy a delicious lunch before joining a guided adventure tour of the Cango Caves in Oudtshoorn.

Day 6
Oudtshoorn – Meerkat Tour, Game Drive & Wine / Gin Tasting

Early morning trip to see the Meerkat and then come back to enjoy a breakfast. After breakfast head out for an enjoyable 3 to 4-hour game drive to see a variety of buck species such as zebra, eland, kudu while exploring the diverse birdlife & other small animals on the reserve. End the day with wine tasting at a premier wine farm or gin tasting.

Day 7
Oudtshoorn to Plettenberg/Knysna – Elephant National Park & Monkeyland

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast before departing to Plettenberg/Knysna to enjoy a visit to the elephant national park to visit elephant orphanage for a guided tour. Later travel to Monkeyland sanctuary to the pristine natural high canopy forest to see free roaming multi-specie primate.

Day 8
Plettenberg/Knysna – Tsitsikamma Nature Reserve

After breakfast, our representative will meet you at the hotel for you to begin your journey to Tsitsikamma Nature Reserve a multi-dimensional destination with dramatic coastal scenery, reefs, rivers, lush forest, and delicate Fynbos. A hiking and water sports paradise, this region forms the top section of the magnificent Garden Route National Park. You will see booming breakers of the Indian Ocean relentlessly pound rocky shores, temperate high forest, and Fynbos (indigenous plants) rolling down to the sea in an unspool verdant carpet. Age old rivers carve their way to the sea and wonderful marine creatures swimming along the shore.

Day 9
Plettenberg/Knysna back to Cape Town Victoria & Alfred Waterfront

After breakfast , our representative will meet you at the hotel for departure back to Cape Town. Back in Cape Town you will enjoy a day of shopping at the waterfront and surrounding areas such as Green Point Market and the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront. The Victoria & Alfred Waterfront in the historic heart of Cape Town’s working harbour is South Africa’s most-visited destination, having the highest rate of foreign tourists of any attraction in the country.

Day 10
Day of departure

After breakfast and a morning of leisure, our representative will meet you at the hotel for a transfer to the airport for your flight back home. Breakfast included.
